Yes — the Slacktide is made in all four Hideaway sizes: Solo 24, Solo+ 30, Double 40, and Double+ 48. Each one is sized to fit that platform exactly in both length and width.
We spent a lot of time trying to get this right. There's a lot of mattress construction types out there but we found there's really only one choice- air + foam. We love it for two huge reasons: Comfort and Packability.
Comfort: We've helped thousands of customers sleep comfortably in their vehicles over the past few years and we learned that every person has a very specific body shape and definition of what's comfortable. Because the mattress uses air pressure, you can dial in the exact amount of firmness that makes you comfortable. Too firm? Let some air out. Feel the slats on the Hideaway? Add some more air in. And for any setting you always have the full-support comfort of the foam.
Packability: We design our products to perform while using them AND to be stored. One of the most important things for storage is for them to pack down into a small and manageable size. If we chose to go with a full foam design that mattress would take up a HUGE amount of space. But with the air + foam construction, it packs down super small- just like your Hideaway.
Toggle and loop attachments at each corner secure the mattress to the Hideaway frame. It takes about 10 seconds to attach and keeps the mattress from shifting during driving or while sleeping.
The Slacktide is 4 inches thick. During development we found this is the sweet spot between comfort and headroom.
Via an integrated valve — you can inflate by opening the valve. The first time you set it up we recommend leaving the valves open for a few hours to give the foam a chance to decompress. Any time after that takes about 15 minutes to inflate by itself. Then a breath or two to get the firmness correct for you.
It has a reversible one-way valve so one side of the valve is IN and one side is OUT. Be sure to have the valve in the correct orientation for what you are doing!
Yes — the Hideaway works with most sleeping pads and mattresses- but we do recommend a 4" thick minimum. The Slacktide mattress is designed to fit perfectly and securely attaches to the platform. No other mattress does this.
