We're honored. And honestly, a little surprised — because we didn't build the Hideaway to win awards. We built it because nothing like it existed, and we needed it ourselves.
It started with a Baja surf trip and a bad night's sleep.
Our founder Reed had spent 15 years in outdoor product development, working on gear you'd find at your local REI. He knew what good gear looked like. And when he wanted to sleep in his Landcruiser on a trip down to Baja, he realized nothing on the market actually worked for him.
A wooden platform was too heavy. Permanent modifications were out of the question. He wanted something he could snap in, adjust, sleep on comfortably, and remove when he needed his car back. No tools. No commitment. No drama.
