Yes. The Double 40 and Double+ 48 both fit two adults comfortably in a 4Runner. Most two-person setups go with the Double+ 48 for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gen, or the Double 40 for 1st and 6th gen. Flat, stable, no wobble.
The 6th gen 4Runner has molded-in armrests and other features for the third row that reduce the usable cargo width. The Double 40 fits cleanly and still gives two adults a comfortable setup — it's just the widest option available for that generation.
